What a lovely sunny week to end our Spring term at Maidensbridge!

Here we are at the end of the Spring Term already.  It is hard to believe that the children are two thirds of the way through their school year! It has been another term packed full of fun, opportunity and fantastic learning!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Parents Evenings this half term, it is always a lovely buzz in the air as we celebrate your children's progress and learning.

Thank you to the HSA for very thoughtful Mother's Day gifts and putting on another 'eggcellent' disco that was attended by most of our children in school. Don't forget, we meet on the first Wednesday of every month and all are welcome! We will need all hands on deck to help put our Summer Carnival on in June, so please come along. The next meeting will be Wednesday 15th April 2026.

The children have continued their hard work inside and outside of the classroom this term and so many have represented the school at so many events. Cross Country, Netball, Football, Young Voices and much much more. We are very proud of you all and your determination to be the best you can be.

We wish everyone a lovely Easter holiday and we will see you all on Monday 13th April.

Trips and Visits

The children have had some great experiences this term outside of school on their adventures! We have had children performing at the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham with a choir of 6000 children, we have had children visiting Dudley Zoo and feeding the chimpanzees, as well as a day of chocolate tasting at Cadbury world. Year 4 and 5 visited the Think Tank and developed their scientific knowledge through visiting many expeditions and Year 1 and 2 visited our local Church in their learning about Easter this term. So much enrichment to bring our curriculum alive for the children! Thank you parents for your support with these trips and visits, we couldn't do them without you.

Girls' Football Team

Well done to our Girl's Football Team who have progressed through to the finals after winning both their games with clean sheets! Brilliant teamwork!

World Book Day 2026

Thank you again for the time and effort that goes in to our annual World Book Day celebrations. The children looked amazing in their character costumes. Thank you to Mrs Hallett for her organisation of the day and her contagious passion for reading! (even when she is on maternity leave!) It was great to see so many at the Book Fair too and all the money raised will help add even more books to our library collection for the children.

SEND Spotlight

Thank you to our 'Inclusion Champions' group for hosting a meeting this term about Neurodiversity and welcoming members from the Dudley Parent Carer Forum to talk to us about useful agencies and supportive groups in the Dudley area. The Inclusion Champions are a group of parents who are helping us in school with policy change and adaptations for children to be considered to ensure we are an inclusive community. It is also very helpful as a group of parents who have the opportunity to share similar experiences and common challenges that most are facing and the reassurance that no one is alone in bringing up our children. If this is something that you would like to be part of, the group will be meeting on Friday 24th April at 9am in Treetops.

Red Nose Day

Thank you to everyone for your support for Red Nose Day this term.  We raised £109 for this worthy cause.

Music Mark

As a school we have achieved the Music Mark award again, due to our commitment to whole school instrumental lessons and the experiences we give to our children through the Choir.

Reminders

Can I please remind parents that we need to make sure that we keep all children as safe as possible at the end of the school day. We need to be able to close the school gates as soon as possible when the children have been dismissed to their adults, because we have children still here in after school clubs and the site needs to be secured. Please don't let children play on the field, playground or gym equipment and make your way out of the gate as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Chocolate Donations

Thank you everyone for your generous chocolate donations. Some of these will be used for our raffle at the Easter assembly but the majority of your donations are going to be sent to the Ronald Mcdonald House, which is the facility that supports families who are having to use Birmingham Children's Hospital. This is an organisation that is very close to our heart and thank you to the Charity Ambassadors for your work, Gabby and Archie.

OPAL Update

We have had some very positive feedback from the children this term about OPAL. They love the chalk! (I am sure you have noticed) They also love the music, being with other year groups and having a longer time to play! We have got some very exciting new zones coming next term, with better weather and we can start our digging areas and our new mud kitchens, very kindly being made by a parent, which will also be an exciting zone.
